Seniors - Your next ProGrad meeting will be held on OCTOBER 22! This is also the deadline for senior shirt order forms. You can bring your forms and money to the meeting, or turn them in to Mrs. Uherek (C207) or Mrs. Mitchell (A109) any day at school.

Students – if you have not taken your school picture retakes will be TOMORROW, Oct. 16th.

Remember you have to take your picture even if you don’t want to purchase any. Pictures are for IDs and the yearbook. Forms are in the front office with prices. Money and form must be brought with you on Tuesday or you can purchase online. Seniors, you will also be able to take your cap-n-gown and drape/tux portraits.  There is a $7 sitting fee unless it is a retake.

Teachers – if you have not taken your picture this year make sure you do so on Oct. 16th.

Students who have officially signed to serve in the armed forces upon graduation, please see Ms. Davis in Room C110 by October 19.

Students - volunteer to work the Texian Market Days at the George Ranch on October 20 and gain service cord hours.  If you are interested in volunteering that day, you get in free, and can spend the day enjoying the festivities after you work your shift.  Stop by Ms. Davis's room - C110 for the contact information very soon.

Are you interested in the Health Field?  Then HOSA is for you! They meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 7:25 in the LGI.  HOSA has extended the date for dues until Friday the 19th of October.   

Do you have a talent? If so the Needville Harvest Fest is having a Talent Contest. Trophies will be awarded and a cash prize. Stop by the front desk for an entry form and details. Deadline is October 18th.  

Students, if you are interested in taking the ASVAB test, please come by the counselor’s office to sign up.  The ASVAB test is the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Test that is given by Military Entrance personnel.  If you are interested in joining the military after graduation or would like to take a career aptitude test, the ASVAB is the test for you.  Again, sign up in the counselor’s office by Wednesday, October 24th.

Our next TAFE meeting will be held on Tues., Oct. 16th. in Ms. Brenton's classroom E205 at 7:30 AM. Membership dues should be turned in by our next meeting. Those who have not paid their dues yet need to see Ms. Brenton. We will be voting on T-shirt designs so if you have design ideas make sure you get them to Ms. Brenton before the meeting next week. 

TAFE members who are competing at Regionals. Competitions are less than a month away! Ms. Brenton will be staying after school today for any students needing help getting started or any project information. 

All Fellowship of Christian Athletes will have a mandatory meeting Tuesday, Oct. 16th at 7:30 in the LGI Room. Please do not miss this meeting, I have some important information that needs to go home. 

This week is Cancer Awareness Week: Support by wearing the following: Tuesday – White for those with Lung Cancer, Wednesday- Black for Melanoma, Thursday – Gold for Childhood Cancer, Friday – Dark Blue for Colon Cancer

Butter Braid order forms are due Friday, October 19th. Girls, turn yours in to Coach Schultz. Boys, yours will be picked up at lunches on October 19th. Thank you all for helping Needville Athletic Booster Club raise money for our athletes!

New members to the shotgun shooting team will have their mandatory safety training TODAY, Oct. 9th at 7 pm at Neil’s Photography studio. All new members need to attend. All required paperwork must be submitted before you can attend the meeting. Any questions see Mr. H in room H102.

Reminder that ASL Club meets every Wednesday at 7:35am in Ms. Hayton’s room B-105.  Please be practicing the National Anthem for this week’s meeting.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host Fields of Faith on Wednesday, October 10th at Blue Jay stadium for grades 9th-12th at 7:00pm. Gates will open at 6:45pm.  Please come out and join us for a night of praise and worship, testimonies and a special message.

All 3 Lady Jay volleyball teams defeated Sealy Tuesday night.  The freshman and JV are in 1st place for district and the Varsity is in 2nd behind Fulshear.

Congratulations to the girls and boys cross country team for an outstanding performance at district Tuesday.  Skyler Casey was the JV girls race district champion. The Varsity girls placed 1st as a team with Scotlyn Lowe winning the race, Jillian Murphy placing 3rd, Madison Krause 4th, Jordan Holub 6th, and Rachel Kubenka 9th. The Varsity boys team placed 3rd and were led by Brandon Pollard placing 1st, Nathan Burleson finishing 3rd, and Eric Cleto finishing 5th. Both the boys and girls varsity teams advance on to compete at Regionals in Corpus Christi.
