April 15, 2019

If you are interested in attending an educational and cultural field trip to Italy next summer in 2020, there will be an informative meeting TODAY,  April 16 at 7 pm in the LGI. All students interested in going need to attend with their parents.

The Needville High School Sports Banquet will be held Monday, April 29.  Student athletes will be given one free meal ticket and the opportunity to buy additional tickets for $10 each.  Tickets will be available at both lunches TODAY and Wednesday, April 16-17.  

HOSA is sponsoring a half-time relay during the Faculty vs. Seniors basketball game.  

Seniors - Balfour will be here TOMORROW April 17th during the lunches to hand out orders of cap-n-gown, invitations, etc. If you owe money you can pay online at Balfour.com or bring cash or money orders. If you have not ordered, cap-n-gowns can be purchased for $65.00 cash. 

Attention Junior and Seniors, all forms and money are due on April 18th for those students wishing to bring a guest that does not attend Needville High School. You will need to turn in all of the following before the end of the school day on Thursday April 18th.
- your orange form
- blue guest form
- copy of guest id
- money for guest and self (if you have to pay)
If you have any questions please see Mrs. Wleczyk in room A103.

Buddy Fishing Day Volunteers please get your orange Buddy Fish Day permission slip turned into Mrs. Poe by Thursday April 18th.

Attention Students: The Needville Band Boosters are sponsoring a car show on Sunday, May 5, 2019. If you’re in search of service hour activities, we encourage you to stop by the band hall and sign up for the available volunteer opportunities. Please see Mr. Finley, for additional information!

UIL Academics competed at the Regional meet this past weekend in Corpus Christi. With the help of One Act Play, Needville placed 2nd in the region with 131 points. The following students placed:
Accounting – Bryce Thumann 5th
Ready Writing – Daniel Kluttz 5th
The following students placed and have advanced to State which is May 3 at UT in Austin.
Computer Applications – Claudia Garcia 2nd and Preston Oliver 3rd
Computer Science – The team of Tristan Amos, Cree D’Agostino, Mason Howell, and Amanda Macha are the Regional Champions.  Individually, Mason and Tristan tied for 3rd and Amanda placed 5th.
News Writing – Hunter Dworaczyk – 3rd

Softball playoff shirts are being sold. They are $18, forms will be in front office and with Coach croft. They are due by Monday April 22.           

The Needville Choir Boosters Scholarship is now available in the counselor’s office.  All applications must be postmarked by May 4th.

Congratulations to the shotgun shooting team this past week a the Foster FFA contest. The contest was won by 2 Needville HS students – Mason Maus won the men’s division with a score of 98. Alex Shepard won the ladies’ division with a score of 95. In the team division the men’s team of Mason Maus, Caleb Uherek, Colton Pierce, and Tyler Rogers won the high point team award.

All freshman, sophomores, and juniors, if you are working toward Service Cord, your service hours are due no later than Wednesday, May 1st.  No hours will be accepted after that date.  Thanks for all you do for  our community!

Congratulations to the Needville Shotgun Shooting Target Team! This past Saturday they competed at the Magnolia West FFA shooting contest in Conroe. The team of Mason Maus, Caleb Uherek, Colton Pierce, and Tyler Rogers placed 1st place high scoring team. With a score of 90 the high point winner was Colton Pierce. The Shotgun Team has 1 more contest before the state contest this summer in San Antonio. Good luck to all competing!
