Our third blood drive of the year is February 23.  You can pick up a form in the nurse’s office.    Forms are due by February 22.  Seniors, you must donate 2 times to receive a red cord to wear at graduation.  See Mrs. Moran for more information.

If you are interested in trying out for Cheerleader or mascot, Cheer packets and forms are available in the front office.  Due back Feb 24th by 4:00pm .

Lady Jay Track t-shirts are now on sale until February 23rd. Each shirt is $14. If interested, please see Coach Croft.

Attention All Dues Paid FFA Members - if you are interested in helping in the 4th Annual Buddy Fishing Day Pick up a Volunteer form from Mrs. Poe in H104 today.  Forms are due back to her by March 1st by 4:00 pm.

We will again collect money for Pennies for Patients, which benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to fight blood cancers.  We will have a competition between grade levels.  Grade level canisters will be set up at lunch or you can come by the nurse’s office to drop off your donation.  The winning grade level will get a movie party.

Seniors - if you weren't able to attend the ProGrad meeting last night - be sure and pick up your Senior Contract from the front office. We want all 225 seniors to be part of the fun on May 26th.

The Little League is looking for high school students to work the concession stand. There is a sign up list in the counselor's office.  Please sign the list if you are interested in working. 

Needville:3  Stafford:0  The Lady Jays traveled to Stafford Friday night to continue district play. The girls came out strong and scored three goals in the first half. Goals came from Alyssa Jimenez, Paola Alanis, and Annalise Rangel. The defense performed very well again keeping the Lady Spartans from scoring.

We have 6 FCCLA students advancing to the state competition!  Both freshman girls, including Olivia who had to go solo, our sophomore team and returning National winner Nikki Eversole!

Needville TAFE members competed at the state Teach Tomorrow Summit in Arlington Texas this past weekend. The following students placed in various future educator events: 
Madison Jan and  Caitlyn Horton received a 1st place blue ribbon in the bulletin board contest.
Abby Telles and Robert Rios also received a 1st place blue ribbon in the bulletin board contest.
Karissa Loewe and Madison Jan received a 1st place blue ribbon in the chapter scrapbook contest.
Karissa Loewe also received a 1st place blue ribbon in the career portfolio contest.
Mirinda Cortez and Abby Allen received a second place red ribbon in the project visualize contest.
Kayla Mclean and Daniela Rincon received a silver award recognition in the break out session contest.
Kayla Mclean also received a bronze award recognition in the Educational Leadership Fundamentals exam.
And finally Karissa Loewe placed in the top 5 - competing in the Lesson Planning and Delivery competition, making her a national qualifier. She will compete at the Educator's Rising National Conference in Phoenix, Arizona in June.   
If you see any of these students make sure to congratulate them on a job well done.

Tuesday 2/21 Shay Fredrickson competed in the South Shore Harbor Invitational. Out of a field of 81 girls Shay placed first with a score of 78.

Please Congratulate Birdie Duty for taking 1st place in the 5A Regional Wrestling Championship, in the 128 weight class, this past weekend.  Great Job Birdie.  Wish her well as she goes to the Texas 5A Wrestling Championship tournament this coming weekend.
